a very productive day 10:21 PM July 12, 2010
Pre-note: A big shout out to Sarah Phan for mentioning me in one of her posts. Yes I do miss you too. Remember the days where we would verse each other or sometimes team up and defeat Danny etc. in Find-a-Word. I must grab myself a few of those books to indulge myself in them when I'm bored and feeling down. OH! That's right and my jigsaw puzzle that Danny also gave me and how for some reason out of nowhere everyone made it with me. LOL! Good times spent at Saturday Viet School. Be sure to visit this lovely girl's blog. You won't be disappointed. It's like a breath of fresh air.

As mentioned in my previous post or two, I talked about how I will be having a birthday lunch with the girls. It turned out the most of them couldn't come so it only came down to just myself, Amy, Anne and Tram who enjoyed our time together at Cafe Amore in which I chose myself.

This cafe is exceptionally sophisticated and it has a very nice ambience. The food is alright I guess. Let me give you a warning beforehand if you ever decide to visit that cafe. DO NOT order the Ravioli if extremely salty food doesn't excite those little taste buds of yours. They won't like it. By the way, a great drink to have if you are still under eighteen years of age is to order Lemon Lime Bitters. This drink will get rid of any sickening feeling that you get when you have ate too much. Another warning. Finish the drink AFTER the meal. Or else you will not be able to enjoy the rest of your dish. The rocket salad there is EXCEPTIONALLY good. It is to die for. I give it five Anne stars. Ravioli was given one Anne star by Anne herself. We soon realised that for some strange reason. Our group has matured in a way that no one could ever think possible. We don't seem to go out to birthday parties and get all drunk and stuff anymore. We tend to go out for birthday lunches now. How sophisticated of us right? In a way that is good, but shouldn't that hit us next year instead of this year? So lunch ended. We all went our own ways as we had things to do. I for one only wanted to do one thing. Shop my heart out. I mean come on SALES! Everywhere. Who could resist.

I roamed Rundle Mall all by myself and did three hours worth of shopping and honestly time and money spent wisely today. I bought myself a lingerie set down at Myer along with a nice pair of leggings and stockings for thirty dirty bucks. Great bargain if I do say so myself. A pair of heels at which I spotted down at Betts. Very high black patent heels. I'd probably say it'd be a platform but then again who am I to say it is or not. They were only forty dollars. Pity I didn't have enough money on me. Stupid one dollar short. But let me tell you, I will get my hands on them. My psychic skills tell me that it will be hot in my hands this upcoming Saturday. I will definitely take a photo for you guys when I buy it. Those aren't the only bargains I bought. I got two nice cocktail dresses perfect for any occasion at Myer also. Both short, one strapless and the other has really thin straps. One is plain in color and simple and the other has little mini circle patterns, gray in color. The gray one? Night out with Eve. The baby pink? Wayne by Wayne Cooper. Let me tell you cheap bargains. The Wayne Cooper dress was the only one left whereas the Night out with Eve, if I can recall correctly had a few leftover. I scored myself my favorite brand of perfume in which I have ran out and have been meaning to get it.Vera Wang-Princess. This woman is amazing. She has wedding gowns, perfumes, home accessories etc. You should visit her website.I finally found the perfect wallet to replace my old one. Although my old one is an authentic Gucci one, I thought since everyone is getting into the craze of having wallets in the form of a clutch. Why miss out on the hottest fashion statements these days. So I scored myself one of these wallets/clutches down at Sportsgirl. I also bought a few pair of earrings at Diva, you should really think of heading down there. Although these earrings weren't on sale. They were a part of the new range. The paris range and the Vintage range. Very elegant looking. Let me tell you another bargain. It was on sale down from thirty or was it twenty five. Well any one of those two prices, they only have a difference of five. So guess how much it got slashed down to? Nine, ninety five baby! That's right! It was such a nice pattern. I think I took a photo of it. Maybe if I can find where I put it then I can post it on here along with the dishes we had today at Cafe Amore.

Anyways, I believe it is time for me to stop rambling on about my life. I think that maybe tomorrow I will post up more of my photos and write a few more stories for The Nutmeg. So below are photos of the dishes at Cafe Amore and guess what I found the photo of my wallet/clutch. So hope I didn't bore you out to death.

P.S: Cafe Amore is situated on Pulteney Street, Adelaide CBD. BUONA NOTTE TUTTI!

 Our Table

Anne's Ravioli di Spinach e Ricotta

My Cotaletta Parmigana

 Amy's Cannelloni della Casa

Tram's Chicken Caesar Salad

 Amy and her meal

Anne put off by the amount of sauce in her Ravioli dish.

My clean plate. Attempted to finish it. FAILED

Amy already full but also attempting to finish it. FAILED!
Anne's thumbs down. The red stuff is ALL SAUCE

Felt bad to leave with all our plates unfinished. So we divided the garlic bread into four.

Look at that clutch. Who's is it? MINE!

And again. Only this time with my papaw.

***HL***

A warm welcome to you. So I have been uncapped for approximately thirty nine hours and forty one minutes, and let me tell you. I have downloaded so many movies that I have only nine gigabytes worth of free space in my laptop. It's amazing how I can almost use up two hundred and eighty six gigabytes when it's only been one year. So anyway, one of the movies that I downloaded is The Clique, you could say it is a cross breed between Gossip Girl and Mean Girls. However, one slight difference is it's based on girls in the seventh grade over in America, the country of glam and money. So anyway, today's post I will be known as Pinky Weatherton whereby I am a teenage high school girl in her senior year and an editor for the school newspaper The Nutmeg. Hope you do enjoy reading my stories. Good day to you all, HL.

'How to Create Character'

Audiences often ask if characters are based on "real people." Indeed, the impulse of the amateur is to write about "who one knows." The professional, on the other hand, understands the impossibility of such a task. The "creator" of the character must know more about the character than one could ever possibly know about a "real person". The author must possess complete knowledge: what the character was wearing on Christmas morning when he or she was five, what presents he or she received, who gave them, and how they were given. A "character", therefore, is a "real person" who exists in another plane, a parallel universe based on the author's perception of reality.
When it comes to people - don't write about who you know, but what you know of human nature.
Pinky Weathorton.

'The Queen Bee'

The trick to being a queen bee isn't necessarily beauty but industriousness. Beauty helps, but without the drive to get to the top and stay on top, beauty will only make you a bee-in-waiting. Passing down the crown to the next bee-in-waiting is like an annual tradition which commences once the old queen graduates. However, the new queen is always obvious. The 'Queen Bee' has beauty, blonde as can be, a cheerleader captain, ranked highest on the popularity scale and will always have THE accessory: the football team's captain. He has the looks, the reputation, the car but let's not forget the key feature that makes them both the perfect couple. The small brains. It is time to break the tradition. Any girl can be the Queen Bee, but what really is the point of having one if she's only got the looks and not the brain. The leader should be someone who has all the qualities of a perfect person. There really is no point in having a queen bee, if the only purpose of that person is to provide a rules and spread fear across the school. I would like to have this opportunity to give a shout-out to all the queen bees out there. After your year you will be officially irrelevant.

'The Nerd Prince'

It usually starts in September. If you're a girl, and a senior, you look around and wonder: Will I have a date for the prom? And if not, how can I find one? And this is where the Nerd Prince comes in.
He's the guy you overlooked in freshman, sophomore and junior year. First he was the short guy with the high voice. Then he was the taller guy with zits. And then, something happened. His voice deepened. He got contacts. And all of a sudden you find yourself sitting next to him in biology, and you think - hey, I could actually like this guy.
And then the Nerd Prince has his pluses. Because he hasn't been corrupted by being the hot guy his whole life, he's grateful. And because he hasn't been yelled at by coaches or trampled on by the football team, he's actually kind of nice. You can trust him...

Old in age, Young at heart. 6:00 PM July 09, 2010
So, I have been seventeen years old for exactly nine days already. Before then, all I ever thought about when people mentioned about my birthday was for me to never grow old and forever stay sixteen. Eventually I thought about what I would miss out. The fun, the parties, the clubs, the alcohol. Not to mention the hype of being legal and all. So I truly accepted what was coming. I tried to make it so that seventeen wouldn't be a big deal and would make me have fun and enjoy myself. Outings and events which I hosted with my dearly beloveds. First event? A family party with lots and lots of food. Second a heart felt day spent with that someone enjoying breakfast, movie, lunch and lots of walking. Next up on the agenda? A strictly girlfriends only event where we eat, have fun and watch a movie. Gee, it has been quite a while since I last blogged. Two weeks if I'm correct? Maybe a bit longer than that. I even thought about abandoning this blog of mine. Yet, here I am blogging again. Reunited. Letting you guys read my thoughts and rant on about my life. So here we are halfway through the year twenty ten and I am a seventeen year old now. Today I feel like blogging so much. So instead of bombarding you with all my thoughts all in one post. I will do it in so many posts. All in one day. Watch me as I amaze you with how many thoughts I have. Enjoy your reading. :) I have decided to do these posts tomorrow. XD! As I am now bored with my layout, so not only will I blog my heart out tomorrow, be excited as this blog of mine will look different! Until tomorrow people, BYE!

Stay away from me. 10:19 PM June 15, 2010

Stay away from me. A harsh statement/phrase isn't it. However, some people deserve to be treated harshly for what they have done. They should know that "What goes around, comes around". Sorry, but it's the truth. The person whom I want to read this blog will never be able to navigate to this blog of mine. They will never know how I feel and what I think of them. I am not someone who can take being put on the spot in situations. I am not the person whom people want me to be. I am me. I have my own opinions, my own beliefs, my own life, my own choices and my own emotions. No one can force me to feel what they want me to feel. I feel what I want to feel. Whether its happiness, sadness, stressed, tired, angry, frustrated, fussy, etc. I am me! Yet some people just don't understand this. It's like they have no form of common sense whatsoever. One day they will leave me no choice but to inform the police and obtain a restraining order. That way, I will be able to feel safe, and treated like a human being who can do whatever they please. Insane right? But, I am the person who will go to that extreme measure once I have been pushed to the limit. So if YOU (the person whom will never read this and understand the harm that they are causing on me) do not eventually stop. Don't blame me for the outcomes. You will only have yourself to blame as you are the one who started it.

The Night That Was...... 9:45 PM June 05, 2010
"ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!"
That's right, this post will be about the night that was absolutely amazing. You want to know what this night was? Do you? Do you really?  LOL! Well, I was supposed to blog about it like what? Three weeks ago? But don't you worry about that cause now I'm here and about to update you with that night. So about April I blogged about my formal dress and stated myself that I would blog about the night that I wore that magnificent dress of mine.

Well the night came, the day couldn't have ended better than with my whole group of friends and their dates gathered together with the rest of the year 12 cohort all dressed up and pretty. Honestly, the food? Should have been better. My vegetarian dish was a disaster... too salty for my liking, and I'm a salty food lover. The dessert? A chocolate tart, extremely sweet. Got sick of it after a few forkfuls. Decorations, I expected better since I attended most of the SRC meetings regarding formal preparations. A bit disappointed.

However, this post wasn't created so that I can list and discuss about the cons of the formal. The sole purpose is to just rant and rant on about the night until I run out of things to talk about and probably by the time you guys get sick and tired of me talking about it. On the day, my school instead of being like any other school and making the students attend lessons during the day; we have a traditional school event that is held once every year on the day of the formal. That's right, our school is cool when it comes to allowing the students to bludge lessons. XD. The event? Walkathon. That's right, a walkathon. This event doesn't last for the whole day. Oh Lord no. It only lasts for 2 and a half hours. After that, the year 12's get to leave at 1pm to go and get ready for the big night. Unfortunately, the students below us a year get to leave at the same time too as our formals are joint. Yes, that's right. I'm talking about the year 11's.

Anyway, where was I. OH! That's right. My group all ended up going home to have a shower, eat lunch, relax and then get ready. Some had hair and make-up appointments, the rest just went home. Me? I, not only went home but at 3 I departed my house to go over to Amy's shack. We had a formal appointment with each other. LOL! We prepared and talked and talked some more. Unfortunately talking while applying make up is a big distraction and a cause for lateness. So we rushed. However, we weren't the only ones that were late. Anne had to pick us up and when we called her, she only just started on her hair. So instead of sticking to our schedule to arrive at Lisa's house for pre-drinks and light snacks at 5. We were an hour late. Some were even an hour and a half late. LOLOLOLOLOL! All in all, we eventually arrived, corsages were presented and tied and all departed in 4 cars to arrive at the final destination.

The Adelaide Festival Theatre's Banquet Room.

At the formal: we ate, danced, took photos (both professional and unprofessional), voted, laughed and practically enjoyed our time together. Awards were given out on the night, two of us from the group won awards. Myself=Most Formal Obsessed, Anne=Future Picasso. The event was concluded with a speech made by our two presidents Sarah Del Fante and Emma O'Shaugnessy.

The night ended with me going home with a balloon, a corsage, an award sash, half of my once a full pair of diamond earrings (which my mum constantly nagged me about for the next few days. =.=""") and two sore feet (in need of a massage and a warm bucket of water). :D So that was my twelve hours worth of fun and memories spent wisely on the Friday 7th of May 2010.

Below, are some photos that were taken on the day. I hope you will be able to experience or get a sense of the vibe that was going on around me just by looking at them. Enjoy!

How far is far? 9:46 PM May 15, 2010

Have you ever went for a stroll to reflect on your day, actions or thoughts? A walk that seems like forever, one that gets you thinking and thinking until you no longer want to reach your destination? One that makes you eager to continue the walk until the end of time cause of how relaxing you feel.

Yet, there's just one issue. When is the end of time? Think about it, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going and you run far far away to hide. But how far is far? At the end of the cliff no matter how high you're high up, you will always come to a halt when jumping off of one. You either meet death or you enter a whole new world. So you could say, the sky is the limit. Literally. Only, if you're going up! On the other hand, if you're traveling horizontally, then obviously the sky IS NOT the limit.
