The Night That Was...... 9:45 PM June 05, 2010
"ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!"
That's right, this post will be about the night that was absolutely amazing. You want to know what this night was? Do you? Do you really?  LOL! Well, I was supposed to blog about it like what? Three weeks ago? But don't you worry about that cause now I'm here and about to update you with that night. So about April I blogged about my formal dress and stated myself that I would blog about the night that I wore that magnificent dress of mine.

Well the night came, the day couldn't have ended better than with my whole group of friends and their dates gathered together with the rest of the year 12 cohort all dressed up and pretty. Honestly, the food? Should have been better. My vegetarian dish was a disaster... too salty for my liking, and I'm a salty food lover. The dessert? A chocolate tart, extremely sweet. Got sick of it after a few forkfuls. Decorations, I expected better since I attended most of the SRC meetings regarding formal preparations. A bit disappointed.

However, this post wasn't created so that I can list and discuss about the cons of the formal. The sole purpose is to just rant and rant on about the night until I run out of things to talk about and probably by the time you guys get sick and tired of me talking about it. On the day, my school instead of being like any other school and making the students attend lessons during the day; we have a traditional school event that is held once every year on the day of the formal. That's right, our school is cool when it comes to allowing the students to bludge lessons. XD. The event? Walkathon. That's right, a walkathon. This event doesn't last for the whole day. Oh Lord no. It only lasts for 2 and a half hours. After that, the year 12's get to leave at 1pm to go and get ready for the big night. Unfortunately, the students below us a year get to leave at the same time too as our formals are joint. Yes, that's right. I'm talking about the year 11's.

Anyway, where was I. OH! That's right. My group all ended up going home to have a shower, eat lunch, relax and then get ready. Some had hair and make-up appointments, the rest just went home. Me? I, not only went home but at 3 I departed my house to go over to Amy's shack. We had a formal appointment with each other. LOL! We prepared and talked and talked some more. Unfortunately talking while applying make up is a big distraction and a cause for lateness. So we rushed. However, we weren't the only ones that were late. Anne had to pick us up and when we called her, she only just started on her hair. So instead of sticking to our schedule to arrive at Lisa's house for pre-drinks and light snacks at 5. We were an hour late. Some were even an hour and a half late. LOLOLOLOLOL! All in all, we eventually arrived, corsages were presented and tied and all departed in 4 cars to arrive at the final destination.

At the formal: we ate, danced, took photos (both professional and unprofessional), voted, laughed and practically enjoyed our time together. Awards were given out on the night, two of us from the group won awards. Myself=Most Formal Obsessed, Anne=Future Picasso. The event was concluded with a speech made by our two presidents Sarah Del Fante and Emma O'Shaugnessy.

The night ended with me going home with a balloon, a corsage, an award sash, half of my once a full pair of diamond earrings (which my mum constantly nagged me about for the next few days. =.=""") and two sore feet (in need of a massage and a warm bucket of water). :D So that was my twelve hours worth of fun and memories spent wisely on the Friday 7th of May 2010.

Below, are some photos that were taken on the day. I hope you will be able to experience or get a sense of the vibe that was going on around me just by looking at them. Enjoy!
