Words, emotions, thoughts, meanings, all of those helped one man to form a song. A song where there's a sense of urgency and commitment is conveyed. A person finally coming to realize his true feelings for another, yet all is too late. The other had waited too long, to the point where they have decided to move on as they cannot endure the pain any longer.

The song makes you wonder, can someone really become that committed and feel a sense of regret when they let someone go, someone that will never return once given freedom? It makes you think about the saying

If you love someone let them go. If they return they were always yours. If they don't, they never were.

Personally, I believe that this saying can both work and fail. If you think carefully, in a way the saying means that once someone is set free and one wants them back it means that they miss them. Yet, it is all too late to turn things back. People need to realize and make up their minds or maybe even take chances and take that extra step. If both are friends, why not risk your friendship and explore a whole new dimension with that person instead of cowering away afraid of losing the relationship. Life is about taking risks and the same thing applies to love also.
